Hey there! Today was my last days of school! Yay! Now that summer has almost officially began, I thought I would start on something I’m trying this summer! Every week (at least almost every week), I’ll post a little tid-bit of inspiration!! So, this is your weekly summer inspo #1! These posts will be a little shorter, but hopefully meaningful!
Today, I’m going to be talking about some practical tips for keeping yourself motivated. I know over the summer, it is super easy to get out of schedule and even a little lazy, but with these tips, you’ll stay refreshed, happy, and healthy!!
My tips (that I will expound on) are (1) make yourself a daily routine, (2) set two alarms, (3) have the right mindset, (4) set goals + make a goal chart.
(1) Make Yourself A Daily Routine
Making yourself a daily routine really helps you stay on task! Include daily activities like getting ready for the day, etc. and stretch yourself a little to include some tasks that need to be done, even though you don’t want to do it. Push yourself to stay on top of your schedule even when you don’t want to.
(2) Set Two Alarms
I find that in the summer, you typically stay up later and sleep in later. This is obviously not the healthiest, and so I recommend for the most part (I totally get that you sometimes have to stay up later during the summer), you set two alarms. The first for a reasonable time to get up in the morning, in the summer. I’d say around 7:30. Than the second, for a time you would like to go to bed, for me, about 10:00.
(3) Have The Right Mindset
None of these tips I’m sharing will work if you don’t truly desire to be motivated. Motivation is an internal thing from you. Yes, while other people can “motivate” you, it still requires a choice in yourself.
(4) Set Goals + Make A Goal Chart
It is super important to set goals, especially over the summer when you have lots of free time to work on accomplishing them. I recommend writing out a list of your goals this summer and than making a chart to track your progress. Be determined to complete your goals!! I have made a goal-chart for you to print out and fill in if you want! You can fill it out and complete it whatever way you see fit.
Thanks so much for reading! At the end of each of these posts, I’ll share a “Bible verse of the week”! Here is the one I chose for this week:
2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.
I thought that this verse really went with the motivation theme of today’s post!
